Who We Walk With

The Sankofa Center: The Bee Foundation, Inc walks with youth, families, school staff, community workers, and returning citizens, and there is no referral, insurance, or case number needed to start a conversation about support.

  • Youth leadership circles Young people join ROOTS to RISE cohorts where they practice identity, emotional regulation, and conflict skills with steady guidance.

  • Family and caregiver guidance Parents and guardians receive clear information about what youth are learning and how to reinforce growth at home.

  • School and staff coaching Educators and youth workers learn a structured framework that strengthens how they respond to behavior, trauma, and leadership potential.

  • Community and reentry support Adults, including returning citizens and neighborhood leaders, engage in rites-of-passage style learning that rebuilds identity and responsibility.

  • Workshops for community partners Organizations host focused sessions on identity, emotional regulation, leadership, and community responsibility that fit their setting and needs.

What To Bring With You

For your first conversation, bring basic identification, contact information for you and your family or school, and any helpful paperwork, such as school reports or program notes. These help us understand your story faster, but we will still offer support if you don’t have everything with you.

Warm Handoffs to Other Services

Some needs such as emergency mental health care, housing crises, or medical issues fall outside what our programs directly address. When that happens, we work with you to connect to the right local partners or services ourselves so you are not left to start over alone or explain your story again without support.
